  • In 1925 the Leeds Motor Club were looking for land on which to run speed events, the hill was discovered by Mr Fred Langton and purchased for the club by the Yorkshire Evening Post, in honour of this the hill was christened Post Hill. On the 24th July 1926 the hill was formally opened and a crowd of 10,000 watched the days events.
