Needing a contender for the increasingly important 600cc sports bike class, Suzuki capitalised on the phenomenal success of their GSX-R750 to produce a scaled down version in the form of the GSX600F. Introduced in 1987, the newcomer thus came with a twin-cam, 16-valve cylinder head, combined oil/air cooling, triple disc brakes, alloy wheels and race-style full fairing. Only the steel perimeter chassis was a departure from the tried and tested GSX-R750 formula. With around 80bhp on tap the GSX600F was good for 130mph and while it never approached the success of Honda's seminal CBR600 on the racetrack, the Suzuki was nevertheless a competent all-rounder and excellent value for money.

This example was acquired by the current vendor in 2004 and has seen relatively little use while in his possession, covering only 34 miles since last MoT'd in August 2009. Currently SORN'd, the machine benefits from a new front tyre and is offered with Swansea V5.
