A late 19th Century French black slate and malachite mantel clock

Having a 5.75-inch white-enamelled Roman chapter ring framing a conforming recessed centre with partially exposed Brocot escapement over rubbed inscription, with moon hands, the two-train movement, to half-hour strike on a bell (hammer missing), stamped "DUCASSE CLAVEAU & CIE / 3114 / A PARIS" and with Japy Freres & Cie 'MED. D'HONNEUR' exhibition stamp beneath number 10207, the broken-arched case with malachite-inset scroll sides framing bevelled glazing, on a moulded apron, 47.5cm high (sold with two-jar mercury pendulum)
