A 20th Century German mahogany-cased brass dial chiming dwarf longcase clock
Having a 7-inch broken-arched dial, the silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes flanked by foliate half-hour divisions, framing a matted centre, the arch with silvered 'Tempus Fugit' boss, all within mask-cast spandrels, the three-train movement , quarter-chiming on four coiled gongs and striking on a fifth, stamped "Peerless / 1 Million / 205581 / Made in Germany", the case having urn finials and a swan-neck pediment with Chippendale-style blind fretwork over turned fluted columns, the trunk with arcading and blind fretwork over an ogee-arched trunk door between fluted quadrant columns, the 'brick' base on ogee bracket feet, 150cm high, (sold with two weights, pendulum, key and winder)
