A large canton famille rose vase
The large vase of ovoid shape with a tapering neck and downswept, lobed rim, with panels depicting Oriental characters, the panels separated by extensive, brightly coloured depictions of birds, insects, and flowers, the neck of the vase with relief-moulded twin handles in the form of lion dogs with a ball, the vase measuring 33cms diameter and 88.5cms high (at fault, and heavily restored in many places).
