Andrew Zenorini, a yarn manufacturer in Hudson County New Jersey, and holder of numerous patents for the manufacturing process pursued a hobby making scale models of historic and imagined rooms. His creations include the West Lobby of the White House, the parlor of Mount Vernon, the Tudor Hall of Saint James Palace and a salon room of Versailles Palace, the latter sold in these rooms December 7, 2009, lot 2296. Mr Zenorini's first miniature carved room was a hunting lodge, complete with mounted trophies all within a large walnut shell. Pursuing his passion, he mastered the arts and skills of carving and cabinetry, upholstery, glass blowing, sculpting and painting to complete every detail of the historic room re-creations. His skill for such detailed workmanship derived from his childhood in Venice where he served as apprentice in the jewelry making business his family had engaged in for generations.
