A mid 18th Century and later-carved oak-cased 8-day brass dial longcase clock with moon phase

Having a 12.5-inch broken-arched dial, the chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, half-hour divisions and inner quarter hour track, framing a matted centre with silvered subsidiary seconds dial over terrestrial calendar square (inoperative), the arch with silvered strip engraved " * WILLIAM * WRENCH * CHESTER * ", the rolling moon painted with sun, moon and stars framed by a silvered lunar calendar border, the knopped four-pillar movement rack-striking on a bell, the case having a broken-arched hood centred by a 'Green Man' mask, over fluted columns, the yoke-topped long trunk door, later-carved with a flowering plant, between reeded pilasters, the panelled base on block feet, cm high, (sold with two weights, pendulum and winder)
