  • The photographs comprise: The christening of the future Edward VIII, Queen Victoria seated with the baby, Prince of Wales and later George V standing, on a Downey card, the verso inscribed by Edward Philip Collins as being the personal gift of the Queen, Osborne, 23 August, 1894; Victoria, Empress Frederick, on a Byrne of Richmond card, similarly inscribed by Collins as a gift from the Empress, dated 8 April, 1891; Helena, Princess Christian, on a Russell of Windsor card, inscribed by the sitter on the mount and dated 1912; Edward in the uniform of a Hussar and Alexandra, large matching cards, one definitely by Lafayette, [c.1880]; together with a pair of images of Edward shooting, another of him in an ulster, a carte-visite of Alexandra; platinum print of a bust of Edward VII by Albert Bruce-Joy, inscribed by the sculptor on the mount and extensively on the verso, giving the locations of most of the 12 copies of the bust that were commissioned; Sir Charles Frederick (Master of the Household from 1907 to 1912), signed and dated 1912 on the mount.
