A carved shell cameo necklace, first half of 19th century
Composed of a series of pale oval shell cameos depicting classical male and female profiles, the three larger central cameos depicting Cupid sleeping, 'The Sale of Cupids' and a young Cupid playing a double pipe for Psyche, all of the cameos collet set within beaded surrounds, each linked by three swags of belcher-link chain, total necklace length 46cm.
