An extensive English Ironstone dinner service, probably Hicks, Meigh & Johnson
Circa 1830
Comprising fifteen dinner plates, seventeen side plates, eleven soup plates, all with scalloped moulded rims, a soup tureen and cover, a vegetable tureen and matched cover and a sauce tureen with cover and stand, all with relief moulded floral finials and handles, a circular pedestal dish, an oval shaped drainer and a single stand, together with a group of nine graduated meat plates, platters and entree plates, all decorated in Imari palette, portraying floral sprays painted in colours, surrounded by a cobalt blue border, highlighted with gilt; Dinner plates 26cm diam, side plates 23cm diam, soup plates 26cm diam, largest meat plate length 48cm, soup tureen 24cm high, all painted with pattern number 93 to base.
