A rare Meissen quatrelobe teabowl and saucer
circa 1730-35
Each decorated in gilding with arched panels edged in foliate scrollwork, enclosing indianische Blumen on the saucer around a central panel aligned to the vertical axis depicting a chinoiserie figure in the manner of J.E. Stadler, the teabowl with four similar panels, a flower sprig in the well and gilt floral scrollwork to the inside rim, the reverse of the saucer with four leafy branches in iron-red, the saucer: 11.2cm across; the beaker: 4.5cm high, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue (small flat chip to inside of footrim of saucer) (2)
