Footnotes
The date on the label would indicate that this jacket was part of Bogart's wardrobe for 'Action In The North Atlantic', which was shot in September-December 1942. It was a propaganda film, designed to be a boost for the US Merchant Marine, which was then suffering heavy losses from U-Boat attacks. It would have been a subject close to Bogart's heart, having served in the Navy during WWI.
