June Bride a fine and rare Lenci Lady doll, 1920's
Pressed felt doll with finely painted features and delicate shading to cheeks, blonde hair with hair clip, slightly turned head and elongated neck to shaped body, bent arms with stitched middle fingers and legs for seated pose, wearing layered white organza dress with scalloped edging, lace trim and black velvet bows, ruched sleeves and pearl necklace, layered underclothes and wearing stocking and green felt heeled shoes, having elaborate felt headdress with lilac and blue summer flowers, pink rose buds and black feathers with beads and headband ending in felt flower buds, felt flower garland to neckline and holding a felt bouquet of flowers, Lenci signature to left foot 71cm (28in) tall. (The dreamy and wistful expression together with the heavy eyelids of this doll are reminiscent of Marlene Dietrich who it is believed Lenci based some of their dolls on and who was an avid collector of Lenci.)
