with going-barrel movement, the bird with multi-coloured feathered plumage and iridescent green highlights, moving metal beak, wings and tailfeather to continuous birdsong (ciphering), rising through pierced and tooled silver grille, in large serpentine case richly chased and impressed with rococo C scrolls, putti trumpeters, lovebirds, roseheads, lyres and French horns, the slight-domed bird lid top bearing winged putti with harp and score, plain polished edge with the repeated theme running to all sides, start/stop pull to right-hand side, on bun feet, with a period gilt Griesbaum key - 4.1/4in. (11cm) wide
