1914 Star (Miss.E.Perry, Aux. Hosp. Unit. Antwerp); British War and Victory Medal (E.Perry. V.A.D.); Defence Medal; Civil Defence Long Service and Good Conduct, E.II.R.. Mounted as worn. With Serbian Samaritan Cross, and a R.B.L. Women's Section Pin. The first three lightly polished, otherwise very fine. (7)

  • The lot comes with three letters from the Scottish Women's Hospitals for Home and Foreign Service, the first dated 27th June 1918 relates to the wearing of chevrons on the uniform and issuing of the Serbian Samaritan Cross, the second dated confirms the award of the Serbian cross, the third dated July 1922 confirms enclosure of the Diploma relating to the cross. In addition there is a slip confirming her service with the Scottish Women's Hospital at Kraguievatz, Serbia from December 1914 to April 1915, this is dated 27th June 1918.

    There are also four original newspaper cuttings, one of which was written by her describing the appalling conditions she was experiencing.


    Confirmed in 1914 Star book as serving as an Orderley with Mrs Stobart's Hospital Unit, sold with copy of the roll from the National Archives. She later served as a cook from 9.11.1917 to 17.7.1918 with France Military Hospital and from 17.9.1918 to 13.10.1919 with the Huddersfield War Hospital.
