Distinguished Service Order, G.V.R.; 1914 Star with Mons bar (Capt:J.A.Scarlett. R.H.A.); British War and Victory Medal (Lt.Col J.A.Scarlett.); France, Croix de Guerre with star, the reverse dated (1914-1918). With corresponding miniatures. Generally good very fine. (10)

    Lieutenant Colonel J.A.Scarlett was born on 16th June 1877. He was commissioned in the Royal Artillery on 17th Feb 1900, he became Lieutenant 3.4.1901; Captain 1.9.1908; and was Adjutant R.A. 1st Feb 1913 to 29th October 1914. He was promoted to Major 30th Oct 1914 and was Acting Lieutenant Colonel 18th Aug 1917 to 29th April 1918 and 13th June 1918 to 10th March 1919. He was Brigade Major, 12th Army Corps, Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, 21 Dec 1915 to 1st Jan 1916.

    The lot comes with a typed copied diary which is quite detailed in places.
