    The lot comprises a large archive collection of assorted memorabilia relating to the raids and his work as a Stills photographer after the war. Items include silk escape maps (3), assorted newspaper cuttings, original wartime photographs including some at Buckingham Palace, post war photographs including some taken by him of Sir Arthur Harris and Bill Townsend, blazer, video, menus, prints etc.

    Douglas Webb flew with Bill Townsend on "O" for Orange, and was awarded the DFM for the raid, he served as the Front Gunner. After the war he became a professional photographer and married the legendary model Pamela Green. He had originally sold his full size medals back in 1989. The purchaser was a Mr Wood who gave them back to him but when he died they were to be given back to him and eventually be donated to the RAF museum at Hendon. This lot represents the remainder of the items that were not originally offered for sale.

    He died in November 1996 and his wife in May this year.
