    Awarded to The Reverend Prebendary William James Booth, who was born on 3rd February 1939 and who served as Chaplain at Cranleigh School in Surrey and later Westminster. He was very active at promoting the charity PHAB. He was made Priest in Ordinary to the Queen in 1976. In 1991 he left Westminster and moved to the Chapel Royal and served as Sub-Dean. He served at a time when the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret passed away and were laid in State at the Queen's Chapel, and when Diana, Princess of Wales lay in the Chapel Royal, in St.James's Palace. He was appointed LVO in 1999 and CVO in 2007. After his retirement he moved to King's Lynn in Norfolk and for a short time was Chaplain to the East India Club and covering a sabbatical was Acting Chaplain at New College Oxford. He died on 2nd June 2009.
