The body, engraved J. Purdey & Sons/No. 13033, with browned damascened finish, the ends capped with knurled brass discs, the rear section with reciprocating buffer, the blued mounts and rings with dovetail fitting

  • The makers have kindly confirmed that rifle no. 13033 was built as a .400 rifle with 'telescopic fitted', and was completed in 1888 for Lord Paget.

    There is no reticle present, but traces of wire suggest that it may have originally had a cross-hair reticle
