Gilt brass full plate movement, the balance cock and side plate decorated with ornately engraved and pierced acanthus leaf scrolling, silver Arabic regulation, plated separated by four square baluster pillars, verge escapement and fusee, white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and painted rural scene of a shepherdess and piper beneath trees, later fancy gilt hands, plain silver case with maker's mark IL probably John Laithwait or son of, outer case hallmarked London 1759, movement signed "Ja's Oswald, Salop"
