A 19th century Continental silver mounted ivory tankard,
apparently unmarked,
cover with central inset commemorative coin, scroll borders, embossed with foliate scrolls, putto, birds of paradise and a bust on a matted ground, side embossed with entwined husks, berries and branches, hippocamp thumbpiece, carved scroll ivory handle with silver mounts, lower junction with a seated putto and fruiting vine tendrils, ivory body depicting a drunken Bacchanalian orgy, on a silver mount with gadroon and bead border, on three grape and vine leaf feet, height 24cm.
