Attibuted to Horikawa Yamashiro, Muromachi period, late 16th century
Hirazukuri, iorimune, with an itame forging pattern mixed with masame, the tempered edge notare midare, boshi hakikake, tang ubu with two holes and sujikai file marks; 11 1/4in (28.6cm)

18th century koshirae comprising a brown lacquer saya finished to resemble fabric and fitted with a shakudo and gold kozuka carved with crabs and water plants in gold overlays; the tsuka fitted with shibuichi fuchi-gashira carved with scholars and a waterfall, signed Masamori, and rice-bale menuki; rounded rectangular shibuichi migakiji tsuba carved in relief with a Buddhist ascetic in clouds holding a bell, gold highlights, signed Masamori

The blade with Hozon Token (sword worthy of preservation) certificate no. 37231, issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (The society for the preservation of the Japanese art sword), dated 1979.3.14

The blade with certificate no. 4791 issued by the Nihon Token Hozonkai (The society for the preservation of the Japanese sword), attributing this sword to Tsutsui Kiju, dated 1979.5.27

The blade with Tokubetsu Kicho Token (sword especially worthy of preservation) certificate no. 5504893, attributing this sword to Echizen Kunitsugu, issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (The society for the preservation of the Japanese art sword), dated 1980.4.7

The mounts with a certificate no. 1783 issued by the Nihon Token Hozonkai (The society for the preservation of the Japanese sword) and dated 1979.5.27
