A late 17th century quarter repeating bracket clock movement, now contained in a later case

The 6.25 inch square brass dial signed along the lower edge in copperplate script, with winged cherubs head spandrels, the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur de lys half hour markers enclosing a matted centre with ringed winding squares, the twin wire fusee movement with five baluster pillars latched to the frontplate, with later anchor-type escapement, sounding on a bell and repeating the quarters on a nest of three graduated bells, the backplate signed in a cartouche within a symmetrical pattern of foliate and six flowerheads within a line border, now contained in a later mahogany case with inverted bell top over an elaborately moulded cornice, glazed side panels and ogee bracket feet The case 41cms (16ins)
