Footnotes

  • The Chronomatic is the first automatic Autavia model, often referred to as the 'Siffert' model by collectors. Jack Heuer made a sponsorship deal with Swiss sportscar and Formula 1 ace Jo Siffert and in 1969 he wore a white dial Autavia on his wrist. The word Chronomatic was placed on top of the Heuer logo on the dial and the product name Autavia above the date window. Only the first production batch and press watches have this rare dial configuration as Jack Heuer decided after the launch to provide the name Chronomatic to Willy Breitling the partner during the development of the first automatic movement powered by a micro-rotor.

For collectors this is the rarest model of all the Autavia range and this Chronomatic Autavia was sourced from the original owner. It comes with its original box, sticker, strap, papers and includes the original bill of sale from 1969 and it is the only Chronomatic Autavia watch known to collectors worldwide, to have all these accessories.
