signed 'HELEN BRADLEY' and with fly insignia (lower right), further signed, inscribed and dated 'Mother said we would walk home/through the Park and see if the ice on the/Park Lake was ready for skating on. Lots/of people were already there. Mr Taylor (The /Bank Manager) was waiting for Miss Carter/(who wore Pink) with his skates but she was/feeling rather anxious and thought they/ought not to risk the ice just yet, but Aunt/Mary and Aunt Frances were skating/merrily along. Mr Green, the new curate/was asking Aunt Charlotte to accompany/him and she looked very happy, only/Mrs Maitland was thinking the cold air didn't/suit her and that Dear Emily should take/her home and the year was 1906./Helen Layfield Bradley 1972' (on a label attached to the backboard)
