We went to Miss Carter's for tea
signed 'HELEN BRADLEY' and with fly insignia (lower right), and inscribed 'For the past two weeks Miss Carter (who wore Pink)/had been very quiet, although the Aunts had called/for her, she didn't answer the door, Mother and the/Aunts wondered what she was doing. However/when Aunt Frances called she greeted her saying,/"I was just about to call to ask you to come to tea/tomorrow". Tomorrow came and into Miss Carter's/House went the grown up's, but, as she didn't like/children, George and I had to go and play in/her back yard, along with Gyp and Barney. Mother/told me afterwards that Miss Carter had had her/sitting room decorated and her new wallpaper/was Black with Pink Roses all over it and she had/a new carpet and everything was very beautiful,/but, I gathered Mrs Hope-Ainsworth came and was/rather rude and bossy, but Dear Mr Taylor (The Bank/Manager) was very nice to her, and even got her to leave/early, so that they could enjoy a good gossip and/the year was 1906' (on a label attached to the backboard)
