BAIRD and TELEVISION
DINSDALE (ALFRED) Television, FIRST EDITION, JOHN LOGIE BAIRD'S COPY, signed ("John L. Baird") on front free endpaper, 12 plates (some photographic, including 4 featuring Baird and his apparatus, one shaved with loss to caption), a few gatherings working loose, contemporary red cloth, gilt stamped "Television. Alfred Dinsdale" on upper cover, 8vo, Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons, 1926

Footnotes

  • A fine association copy, signed by John Logie Baird (1888-1946), the first person to produce televised pictures of objects in motion, and the central figure in Dinsdale's pioneering work on television. The position of the signature on the blank half-title, rather than the title or portrait frontispiece, suggests that this was Baird's own copy.
