An inside-painted chalcedony agate snuff bottle
By Wang Xisan, circa 1960-1965 (the bottle 1760-1860)
The transparent chalcedony with dark brown and caramel inclusions, the narrow sides carved with mask-and-ring handles; the inside masterfully painted making full use of the natural markings with two boys at play viewed through a moon gate to one side, and two boys playing by a tree to the other, inscribed Wang Xisan, with one seal of the artist, stopper.
