Ink and colour on paper, a set of eight paintings of single horses, each closely following the Qing Dynasty Imperial originals, depicting a single horse standing four-square with Qianlong seals and an inscription, dated guihai, corresponding to 1743, framed and glazed.
38.8cm x 43.9cm (15¼in x 17¼in) (8).


  • One of the original paintings from the National Palace Museum, Taipei is illustrated in Emperor Ch'ien-lung's Grand Cultural Enterprise, Taipei, 2002, Catalogue no.IV-3.
