A turquoise and aubergine-glazed figure of Guanyin
Dated by inscription to the 3rd year of Wanli, corresponding to AD1575 and of the period
The deity seated in dhyanasana atop a lotus throne, with flaming mandorla behind, flanked by two acolytes, with details picked out in blue, aubergine and straw glazes heightened with gilding, the reverse with the nine-character inscription.
