A gilt-bronze figure of Sakyamuni
15th/16th century
Seated in dhyanasana atop a separate waisted double-lotus throne before a vajra, his right hand stretched down in bhumisparsha mudra and his left resting on his foot in avakasha mudra holding a flask, the face set in a contemplative expression, flanked by the pendulous earlobes, the hair in tight curls rising to the usnisha, the robe draped over the left shoulder and incised with a scroll at the hems.
