A silver filigree enamelled box and cover
First half of the 19th century
Of bombé form with canted corners, raised on four supports with foliate apron and applied with movable handle, surmounted by domed cover with flattened finial, applied around the sides and handle with foliate and landscape enamel decoration.

  • A number of related Chinese silver filigree and enamelled objects retained in the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburgh include a very similar box and cover, similarly enamelled against a spiral filigree ground which is dated to circa 1820-1840, see Silver Wonders from the East.
