A rare and important archaic bronze food vessel, li ding
Circa BC1900-1600
The body comprising three joint lobed sections rising to the flared flattened rim, set with a pair of upright loop handles, all raised on three tapering triangular supports, the lobes cast with interlaced borders simulating metal bosses on leather straps, the rim with a later incised nine-character inscription, stand, Japanese wood box and cover.
