A hardstone water buffalo and boy carving
Late Qing Dynasty/ Republic
The hardstone carving, possibly turquoise, carved in the form of a recumbent water buffalo, with its forelegs partly raised, its tail flicked to one side, surmounted by a smiling boy riding on its back, holding the left horn in one hand and the tethered rope in his right hand, with a hat tied behind his back, wood stand.
