An Egyptian gesso-painted wood coffin panel
Late Period, circa 664-332 B.C.
With sixteen vertical rows of hieroglyphs in black on a mustard yellow ground inscribed with the name of the owner (or father) 'Ankhkhonsu' with a long protective funerary text spoken by Qebehsennef, one of the Four Sons of Horus and protector of embalmed internal organs, the address offers the deceased the same protection given to Osiris, including the overthrowing of his enemies, 24½in x 4½in (62cm x 12cm), mounted
