Western India, circa 1830-50
rosewood, relief-carved, the back-splash with a pair of stylised flourishes with fruit-bearing tendrils, the top with beaded side edging flanking a band of leafy vine, the back inside panel with a large sunburst motif with a floral spray in each corner, with two curving foliate supports on a recessed base with beaded edge and resting on four feet
