Arabic manuscript on paper, 23 leaves, 9 lines to the page written in large naskhi script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in black, gold rosettes decorated with alternating red and blue dots between verses, inner margins ruled in black and gold, catchwords in wide margins, panel for a sura heading left blank apart from the last words of the last verse of the previous sura flanked by two illuminated rosettes, one illuminated headpiece decorated with intertwining floral motifs on a gold ground, some smudging affecting a few words of text, corners rather thumbed, colophon mentions the date AH 1120/AD 1708-9, brown morocco with stamped central medallions, worn, crudely rebacked, with flap
