- Additional note on provenance: according to the original Harrods receipt, the lot was formerly in the possession of Admiral Henry John Rous (1795-1877): served in the Royal Navy in India and Australia (a county in New South Wales is named after him); was a Conservative MP; was made First Lord of the Admiralty in 1846. Given by him to Henry Chaplin MP (1840-1923), later 1st Viscount Chaplin.
