This illustration to the Bhagavata Purana is in the Popular Mughal style that was current in Rajasthan in the early 17th century, and it is an interesting and important indicator of the existance at an early date of flourishing schools in Rajasthan. For comparison see H. Goetz, The Art and Architecture of Bikaner State, Oxford 1950, pl. 91.
