the powder box of pointed oval-shape, the exterior painted in polychrome with stylised flowerheads, the hinged lid enclosing a mirror and powder pad, the base mounted with an agate inscribed in naskh, two small chains linking it to a tubular-shaped amulet case decorated in polychrome with bands of floral motifs

    The inscriptions consist of: Qur'an, II (al-baqara), verse 255; the nada' ali quatrain and part of the shahada, "Muhammad is the Prophet of God".
