  • Provenance:
Folio 1r has ownership inscriptions of Sayyid Muhammad ibn Sayyid Ibrahim, known as Duqah-Zada, and Shaykh al-Islam Sa'ib.

The use of the word Rahim twice in the added two couplets asking the reader to pray for the scribe may indicate his name. There is a Muhammad Rahim al-Mashhadi, a nasta'liq calligrapher and a pupil of Sayyid Ahmad al-Mashhadi, whose work is recorded. See Mehdi Bayani, ahval va asar-e khosh-nevisan, vol. III, Tehran, 1348 sh., p. 721.
