A mirror backed Builder's half model of the SS Yoseric 1908.
Hull of solid timber, painted black to the waterline and red below, with a white boot top. Four blade brass propeller, varnished decks and superstructure, with inscribed details in Indian ink. Detailed metal fittings include guardrails and stanchions, ventilators and winches. In a polished display case, with an inscribed plaque for Russell & Co. Port Glasgow. 61x8x13.5in (155x20x34cm)

  • The SS Yoseric was built by Russell & Co., shipbuilders of Port Glasgow and launched in 1908. In 1909 she struck a wreck of Mocha Island, Chile, on passage from Baltimore to Santa Rosalino. Beached at Lebu, she was abandoned as a total loss.
