maker's mark D&S in an oval, possibly an unrecorded early mark for J Dixon & Sons, Sheffield 1841,
inverted pear form, with scroll rim, leaf-capped reeded scroll handle, embossed with flowers, foliage, scrolls and shells on a matted ground surrounding a central rocaille cartouche engraved with a coat-of-arms, raised on four foliated scroll feet, with gilt interior, height 25cm, weight 42.4oz.
