A Victorian silver "Teniers" style coffee pot,
by Edward Farrell, London 1842,
baluster form with finely hand chased and high relief decoration depicting two outdoor Inn scenes; one drinking and the other gambling, domed cover with similar decoration and having a cast finial modelled as a man seated on a barrel and helping himself to the ale, the "bizarre" handle modelled as seated drunken reveller with out-stretched arms with a flask in one hand and goblet in the other, raised on four moustachioed "pirate"-capped supports issuing from shells, monogrammed, height 28cm, weight 47.43oz.
