A late 18th century Russian silver snuff box,
maker's mark script F W, possibly Franz Ludwig Wilhelm, St Petersburg,
the circular pull-off cover inset with a gilt commemorative medallion of the Falconnet equestrian statue of Peter the Great and a profile portrait of Catherine the Great to the reverse, with a bright-cut border, the underside with a central flowerhead within a band of flowers, a ropetwist and swag border to the edge, diameter 8.5cm.
