probably by Houdebine, Paris
the circular enamel dial raised on a fluted column above laurel-wreath garlands flanked to the right hand side by a standing young lady looking at a couple of swallows resting on the stepped shaped base with beaded friezes, on scrolling acanthus and toupie feet, the dial indisctintly inscribed H...Ft...Paris, the movement numbered 5685; the pair of seven-light vases-candélabres en suite, each with a double handled ovoid body centred by a female mask issuing floral garlands, on a circular base and toupie feet, the clock: 44cm wide, 25cm deep, 70cm high (17" wide, 9.5" deep, 27.5" high), the candelabra: 29cm wide, 30cm deep, 83cm high (11" wide, 11.5" deep, 32.5" high).
