A very large French 19th century Louis XV style gilt bronze three-piece clock garniture
comprising a clock and pair of eight-light candelabra; the clock with circular enamel dial indistinctly inscribed: .../ Paris, surrounded by leaves and surmounted by a putto playing with a couple of birds, above a pierced foliate shell, flanked to each side by a putto seated on a scrolling gadrooned foliate base, the movement inscribed POPON A PARIS and numbered 4473; the eight-light candelabra en suite, each with a putto holding a bird and a naturalistic stem issuing eight branches, each terminated by a circular drip-pan and candleholder, one inscribed to the base V and numbered 1158, the clock: 76cm wide, 30cm deep, 63cm high (29.5" wide, 11.5" deep, 24.5" high); the candelabra: 33cm wide, 30cm deep, 75cm high (12.5" wide, 11.5" deep, 29.5" high).
