'A work (or works) with this title was shown at the opening exhibition of the Wertheim Gallery, London, in the autumn of 1930 (no catalogue traced) and in Morris's one-man exhibition at Tooth's in 1934. The nearer flight of birds is of Barnacle Geese. Those on the ground appear to be Pink-footed Geese.' (Richard Morphet, Cedric Morris, Tate Gallery Publications, London, 1984, p.107)
