GEMINI 6 TRACKING OBSERVATIONS PAPERS.
Four items related to ground observations of the Gemini 6 and 7 orbital rendezvous:
1. Latimer, James. "Observations of Gemini 6 Gemini 7 Rendezvous." 6 pp. A special report by the Smithsonian Institution Astrophysical Observatory's Villa Dolores, Argentina station which made photographs of the two spacecraft during their rendezvous. Signed by WALLY SCHIRRA and TOM STAFFORD on the front cover.
2. An original "Satellite Observation" carbon sheet with the manuscript note of: "Norad reports that the SAO station at Villa Dolores, Argentina took two pictures of the spacecrafts last night around rev 165." There are over 7 additional direct annotations on this sheet.
3. Two black and white photograph copies of the rendezvous itself, 10 by 2 and 9 by 6 inches.
4. A Typed Letter Signed by James Latimer, 28 January 28, 1966, on SAO stationary, to Edward Pavelka of the Flight Control Division of NASA MSC describing the two photographs.
An interesting perspective on the world's first space rendezvous mission.
