- Jules Edmond Masson was the son of Clovis Masson, who was also a renowned sculptor and a pupil of Barye. J.E. Masson specialised in depictions of animals, as well as equestrian monuments (including a fine monument to Napoleon Bonaparte) and Orientalist subjects.
